The Giving Tree is up and going
The Giving Tree corner was overflowing with item collected, 15 large packs of paper goods, 14 Youth blankets, and 7 adult blankets. These were delivered to the Festival of Sharing collection point yesterday, 19 Sep. We are collecting for Maplewood Elementary school next, specific needs will be identified later.

Children's Mission Project
Help Us Share God's Love! You have enjoyed the ducks and chickens the children have passed out. We have discussed during the last few Sundays that our parents go grocery
shopping, and out of these trips, they make our meals. We have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But there are children and families that do not have that privilege. We discussed how it would feel if we just didn't even get our favorite snack. We can make a difference. We can feed children like us!

Watch as our thermometer rises. Watch the faces of the children as they collect their quarters and money. Even children can do God's work. A child can make a difference.

In-Person Worship:
Gather in the sanctuary, where you'll be greeted with warm smiles and welcoming hearts. Experience an atmosphere of reverence and joy as we come together to:

For those who prefer or need to stay home, we offer a virtual worship experience through our website and social media platforms. This online service includes many of the same elements as our in-person gatherings, such as prayers, hymns, and sermons, allowing you to connect with God and your faith community from anywhere.
Bible Study at McMurry United Methodist Church

We offer two sessions to fit your schedule:

New Bible Study
The book study on Isaiah will return for Session 5 on September 14 at 6:30 pm.
Even though this study has started, please feel free to join us on Mondays at 6:30 pm as we continue to examine the Book of Isaiah and the multiple characters of God.
This is a wonderful opportunity to:
- Grow in faith

- Deepen your understanding of Scripture

Our Prayer Team meets every Thursday from 2:00 to 3:00 PM to pray for our church, families, friends, and the world. All are welcome to attend the Prayer Team's meeting.

Hearts and Hands Women's Group
McMurry United Methodist Church - Multi-Purpose Room
4th Tuesday of every month
Join us each month for a special time of faith, creativity, and connection!
We enjoy a delightful mix of:
• Short Bible devotions
• Crafts
• Snacks
• Fellowship
Each gathering begins with a brief devotion, followed by fun and meaningful craft projects. We wrap up with snacks and time to connect with other women in the community.
Whether you're a seasoned crafter or just looking for a welcoming and supportive group, all are welcome!

Join Hiram's Helpers from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. We will begin with a Bible devotion and snacks, followed by work around the church on projects. All are welcome to join us for this time of work and fellowship.
Hiram's Helpers are committed to ensuring that no child or grandparent misses camp due to financial concerns. Proceeds from the Shrove Tuesday pancake dinner brought in $400 to help ensure kids can go to camp. Meetings are held on the first Saturday of every month, starting with a hearty breakfast that sets the tone for our discussions and activities.
This is a time for connection, reflection, and renewal of spirit. Join us as we gather to grow together in faith and service!

Every Monday of the month, the old class gathers for lunch at Red Door Woodfired Grill in Liberty, MO, at 12:30 p.m.
Enjoy $5 classic hamburgers and great conversation!

We already have a wonderful team helping with these ministries, but we'd love to give them a break now and then.

For September, we are collecting peanut butter and jelly.
As of September 13th, we collected 53 jars of peanut butter, 30 jars of jelly, and 27 other items for a total of 110 items. Remember our goal is to send 104 of the monthly items to each
food pantry in honor of our 104th Year of McMurry serving in the community. Good start, McMurry.
Our Food Pantry Outreach program relies heavily on the generosity of church members and visitors.
Donations can be dropped off in the designated collection bins in the church lobby during regular business hours or before and after Sunday worship services.
Volunteers sort and package the donated items into care packages that are distributed to individuals and families in need. Through this outreach initiative, McMurry UMC aims to help Avondale Church provide not only physical nourishment but also dignity and hope to those in our surrounding community.
