Breaking Bread Lunches occur on the first Sunday of every month after church at 11:30 a.m.

Join us for a delightful meal as we come together to share good food and great company. Each month, our talented Chefs of the Month prepare a delicious feast, ensuring that there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Following the main meal, we indulge in an array of scrumptious desserts because who doesn’t love a sweet treat?

Everyone is welcome to gather around McMurry's table, so feel free to bring your family and friends along. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with others in our community and savor a meal together. We look forward to seeing you there!

A cancer support group wil be coming to McMurry soon. Anyone affected by cancer can come to this group for support. All are welcome whether you have survived cancer in the past or currently have cancer. Also, those who have been affected by cancer through a family member or friend are welcome to attend this support group. Stay tuned for more information.

Our choir meets every Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. Our choir director, Faye Rader, leads us in preparing beautiful music for our Worship services. Faye is multi-talented in teaching and leading music. She was a music teacher for over 30 years and is the choir director of the North Star Community Band.

Prepare for a fun time of friendly competition and laughter as McMurry United Methodist Church eagerly gears up for its highly anticipated Game Day. This event, set to be a delightful blend of excitement and camaraderie, promises to be a haven for both the young and the young at heart.

Whether it's a strategic move in a classic board game or a jovial round of charades, the Game Day at McMurry United Methodist Church is sure to create lasting memories and foster a sense of unity among all participants.

Join us for our next Hearts and Hands Women's Group on Tuesday, July 23rd.

Hearts and Hands is a women's group that meets monthly on the 4th Tuesday of every month. At each meeting, we have a Bible devotion, work on crafts, enjoy delicious snacks, and engage in fellowship with other women. Come, join us each month!

Whether you're questioning, your orientation, facing societal discrimination, or simply seeking support from others, these support groups at McMurry United Methodist Church offer invaluable resources. The groups often feature discussions, activities, guest speakers, and social events, fostering a sense of belonging and community. The power of shared experiences and mutual understanding can be incredibly empowering, helping individuals navigate life's journey with greater confidence and self-acceptance.

This is a group that meets on the first Saturday of every month. (It is men, but anyone is welcome and frequently we have others come to eat, fellowship, and help with planned projects.) We have no charter beyond enjoying a breakfast, sharing a devotional, and then spending some time on a planned project (either within the church or community.)

The Praise Team at McMurry United Methodist Church plays a vital role in leading worship services each week. Comprised of talented musicians and vocalists, this team uses their gifts to lead the congregation in singing praise songs that uplift and inspire. With a passion for worship, they carefully select music that aligns with the theme of the service and engages people of all ages and musical abilities.

In addition to leading worship during Sunday services, the Praise Team also provides special music for holiday celebrations and other events throughout the year. Through their ministry of music, they help create an environment where people can connect with God and experience His presence in a powerful way. Their dedication and talent are a true blessing to our church community.

The Prayer Team at McMurry United Methodist Church is a dedicated group of individuals who are committed to supporting their fellow congregants through prayer. Made up of volunteers from within the church community, this team prays for the needs and concerns of those in the church as well as those in the wider world. They believe in the power of prayer to bring comfort, healing, and guidance to those who are facing challenges or seeking direction in their lives.

Whether it's praying for someone who is ill, grieving, or going through a difficult time, or giving thanks for the blessings received, the Prayer Team is always ready to lift up the needs of others in prayer. Through their faithful service, they help to create an atmosphere of love, support, and spiritual connection within our church community.

The Quickie Quilters group at McMurry United Methodist Church is a lively and creative community of quilters who meet regularly to work on various projects. This group welcomes anyone interested in learning more about quilting, regardless of skill level or previous experience. Members share their knowledge and expertise with one another, offering tips and techniques to improve skills and complete projects more efficiently.

The Quickie Quilters have made numerous quilts over the years, donating many to charitable organizations such as Project Linus, which distributes blankets to children in need. The group has also created beautiful banners and wall hangings that adorn our sanctuary and enhance its beauty. Participating in the Quickie Quilters not only allows members to engage in meaningful and fulfilling work but also fosters friendships and deepens connections among participants. It is truly a joyful and inspiring group to be a part of!
